Hippy pants are a looser, 'harem pants' style with a stretchy waistband and plenty of bum room. A fitted ankle cuff means that legs can be scrunched up at first then pulled down as the child grows, meaning they are very long lasting.

Jazzy leggings are a fitted style, but the super stretchy jersey fabric means they are soooo comfy and have plenty of room to grow. The leg cuff is designed to be turned up at first then worn down, again with longevity in mind.
